Pancho Activities & Restaurants
Tours
There
are several individuals and companies which provide transportation
and guides for snorkeling, jungle tours, horseback riding, hikes,
bird-watching and archeological tours
Diva
Tours (258-4017) offers many packages. Call them on the phone you'll
get an English-speaking person who'll explain the costs and other
details.
Monico
(258-4024) is a certified guide and is very knowledgeable about
the flora and fauna here. His snorkeling trip, which leaves from
Punta de Mita and goes to the Marietas Islands, takes nearly a full
day and includes all the equipment. The cost for up to 6 people
is $180. Same for the San Blas jungle tour, part of which is on
a boat on a river, with lunch at a restaurant (about $9). An archeological
hike (closer) and a local bird-watching hike are each $120 for up
to 6 people. (Prices are subject to change.)
Surfing
the Waters
The
San Francisco Surf Shop is located on San Pancho's Tercer Mundo
(main street) close to the beach. Call: 311 258 4215.
A
surf shop is on the beach in Sayulita next to Don Pedro. They rent
surfboards, body boards, chairs, umbrellas, and snorkels, and sell
fins, t-shirts and other beach items. Surfboards rent for $5 per
hour or $20 a day (9 to 5) or $30 for 24 hours. (It is very expensive
to purchase boards here and there are NO second hand boards)
Surfing
the Web
San
Pancho has three internet cafes, one on Av. Tercer Mundo near America
Latina, one on Calle Mexico just off the Av. Tercer Mundo, and the
third is just off Av. Tercer Mundo, in the other direction on Calle
Asia. They charge reasonable rates and have several computers, high-speed
access, printing capability, and hours into the evening.
Yoga,
Massage, and Health
Gabriela
Loreto (258-4256) has trained extensively in yoga, acupuncture,
and other health-related fields. We highly recommend her. Call for
class times.
Tamara
(258-4243) offers various massage and spa services at her new studio
at the corner of Calle Las Palmas and Calle Colinas de San Miguel.
Costa
Azul (258-4000) offers massages and other spa services.
Other
Information
The
tap water in Mexico is not potable, but bottled water is available
all over and is pretty inexpensive. Many rentals come with a constant
supply of bottled water.
